PHILSQUEAK CAVIES JOINS PCFI's STANDARD OF PERFECTION COMMITTEE
On June 26, 2010, The PILIPINAS CAVY FANCIERS INC (PCFI) Board has met for the joining and creation of the Official PCFI's Philippine Cavy Standard of Perfection.
This Standard will be the basis of the Official Local and National Cavy Shows of PCFI.

2nd Membership Drive
held March 20, 2010 at the BF HOMES CLUBHOUSE, Parañaque City.

Our 2nd Membership Drive with Cavy Exhibit and Cavy Seminars (for newbies) turned-out a huge success yet again just last 20 March over at the BF Clubhouse in BF Homes, Paranaque. Approximately 50 cavy enthusiasts and supporters (including a lot of members!) joined the event and participated in the activities that were conducted throughout the afternoon.
Your club has generated an additional 26 members including our first member from Davao City!
Equally exciting was the first Cavy Exhibit (Mini Contest!) where 3 cavies won an exclusive PCFi ribbon plus the distinction of being the Best Longhair (Glenn Manio), the Best Groomed (Ralph Figueroa) and the Fastest Carrot Eater (Rommel Javate of RJ Cavies) ~ our side event!
Our heartfelt thanks goes to Mr Reimond Reyes, expert cavy breeder, who served as our judge for these contests. Mr Reyes was accorded honorary member status and was awarded with a PCFi membership kit - a small token for the numerous expert advise your club has gotten from him.
Our thanks also to Mark Cruz (Caveman Cavies) for lending us his expert advise on basic housing with the high-tech cages he brought for all members to learn from. Last but not the least is to our Vice President, Jesse Manio (Etivac Cavies), for conducting the seminar on basic grooming techniques! (a perfect one for the newbie and for our future Annual Show - soon to come!!).
There are numerous people to thank most especially the members of PCFi, who even came from the province to attend the event and promote the club - many thanks to you guys!

PHILSQUEAK CAVIES IS JOINING PCFI's 2nd MEMBERSHIP DRIVE
The PCFi Board has agreed to proceed with the 2nd Annual Membership Drive this coming March 20, 2010 this time around in the South to accommodate breeders, hobbyists from the Southern cities and provinces.
Addition from the 1st Membership Drive, this upcoming 2nd Membership Drive will now include a combination of three key activities:
- Membership Drive
- Cavy Exhibit, and
- Cavy Seminars
PCFi has partnered with expert cavy breeders to conduct seminars that are meaningful to the newbie and expert breeder, alike.
3 KEY TOPICS for DISCUSSION AND SEMINARS by our EXPERT PANEL
(Highly recommended for those new in the hobby, cavy breeder who would like to know more, soon-to-be cavy owners, and those who would just like to listen to cavy discussions)
SEMINAR #1 - Grooming and Cavy Care
SEMINAR #2 - Cavy Breeds (Different Kinds of Cavy Breeds)
SEMINAR #3 - Cavy Housing and Diet
An exhibit will likewise be held with special prizes for the best groomed cavy, cutest cavy, and many more!!!
Also, bring your cavies for Fun Cavy Games! (The fastest cavy to finish a carrot stick! and more!)
From the 57 bonafide members we enrolled during the 21 Feb membership drive, the PCFi has now managed to secure more - right now, we have 63 members and more are showing interest thru the text messages we receive day-in, day-out!
We will communicate with you pretty soon as to the meeting details across all the lines of communications (ppf, SULIT, text/sms, pcfionline yahoo groups). In the meantime, kindly block of that all important date - March 20, Saturday. It will be an afternoon of fun and excitement for all cavy fanciers!!
